| Significant Events: Remarks: Branch 1 - Goff Fire: Active fire spread continues to threaten structures and a vital utility corridor in Fort Goff and the Seiad Valley. Construction of indirect lines continues along Portugese and Fort Goff Creeks. Direct action along the north flank is hampered by steep, inaccessible terrain. Containment options along the north flank are being evaluated. Branch 2 - Hello Fire: Short crown runs have bumped indirect lines along the north flank with multiple slopovers. Steep inaccessible terrain continues to inhibit operations on the west flank. Crews continue to establish and hold indirect line on the south and west flanks. Efforts to protect the historical structure to the south continue. Branch 2 - Lick Fire: Crews continue to improve direct line. The forward rate of spread has been halted. Heavy commitment to patrol and mop up is required to secure the incident. Observed Fire Behavior: Moderate surface fire spread with significant rollout. Increasing single and multiple tree torching with small crown fire runs. Planned Actions: Continue to establish indirect lines in areas that are safe for crews to work. Prepare for possible future burnout operation. Continue indirect attack on the Goff Fire. Continue direct and indirect attack on the Hello Fire. Continue direct attack on the Lick Fire. |

Observed Fire Behavior: Fire behavior moderated due to higher relative humidities. Single and group tree torching, short range spotting less than 1/4 mile, high intensity burning of heavy timber fuels, and low rates of spread. Planned Actions: Continue constructing indirect line in Division's C,D,X. Evaluate and prepare for potential burnout to secure fire lines. Continue to prepare for potential structure protection. |

| Significant Events: A significant firing operation was done today. This required the closure of Highway 20. A 50 acre spot fire was suppressed in Branch III along Highway 20. Remarks: ICP is located at the Lake County Fair Grounds in Lakeport. High tension transmission lines providing power to Lake & Mendocino Counties are currently running at 50%. Hot temperatures & peak demands are putting a strain on it's current capacity with the loss of 1 transmission line. The lose of a second transmission line would result in the implementation of rotating outages to all customer classes in Lake & Mendocino Counties. The State Heat Plan is being executed, which requires electricity. A major population class in both counties are the elderly, who are susceptible to the high temperatures. Record ERC's have been recorded. The fire is primarily a slope and fuel driven fire. Spotting continues to be a problem. Observed Fire Behavior: Extreme fire behavior, rapid rate of spread, spotting Planned Actions: Continue to improve existing line. Construct direct line. Continue with contingency dozer line. |
