CA-PNF Chips Fire. 30,00 acres, 8% contained. Smoke from the fire is impacting the North Sacramento Valley and the Lake Almanor Basin area. Fire fighting efforts continue; though, limited due to weather conditions that have persisted over the past several days bringing very high temperatures and extremely low single digit Relative Humidity. Short range spotting and rapid rates of fire spread continually test constructed fire line and firefighting efforts. Steep terrain with a potential of rollout of debris along the Highway 70 corridor and Caribou Road remains a safety concern for fire resources and the public. Threatened critical infrastructure including the Red Hill communications site which services critical communications for various emergency services and related agencies is currently being threatened and resources are needed to prepare and defend communications site. PG&E power lines are being impacted by smoke, which could result in power failures to serviced areas. Private timber lands and associated plantations are currently being impacted. Other concerns continue to include the snag loading, in and near the fire perimeter.

CA-LNP Reading Fire. 17,530 acres, 7% contained. Multi-jurisdictional wildfire on NPS and USFS lands with high level of public and political concern regarding wildfire threat, smoke impacts, and threat to communities and key communications sites. Dense forests and brush fields with very heavy fuel loading, very dry fuels, and low relative humidity. High public park visitation near fire vicinity. Plumas, Shasta, and Lassen Counties are being impacted by both this fire and the Chips fire 35 miles to the south.

CA-NOD Lost Fire. 61,273 acres, 95% contained.

CA-KNF Fort Complex. 908 acres, 7% contained..Topography is making access difficult, steep terrain with snags from the 1987 burn, and geographical distances between the incidents. Smoke impacts to Applegate Lake recreation area and Klamath River Community with concern for the public health. Late successional reserve (LSR)and T&E species in Seiad/Baker Botanical area. Critical archeological site and tribal relational.
