Isn't your point their point?
Yes, there is uranium in the granite by way of demonstrating that other state rocks have potential/theoretical hazards but those people are not in a tizzy about that fact because the risks are comparatively low just as we Californians ought not to be upset about Serpentine?

But, the concentration of uranium is most granites is so low that you are not at risk from exposure. You get far more radiation from other sources in your everyday life.
