with the lack of rain lately all you need now is a wind event to get things going. Southern oregon is in extreme fire danger so Northrn CA should start picking up with larger fires. The Plumas and Shasta have been chaseing brush fire almost hourly!!

Juan,
I would imagine so!
This seemingly strange weather pattern is historically and statistically typical when California transitions from El Nino directly to La Nina as we are doing now.
However, with the transition essentially completed we will soon if not immediately now be back to the typical weather pattern we experienced the past several years sandwiched between the stronger El Nino of 2004-2005 and the weaker El Nino of 2009-1020.
During that period parts of California experienced unprecedented burning all the while the entire state experienced chronic drought and Southern California experienced a run of consecutive Santa Ana Wind seasons without peer in living memory.
BTW, welcome to California Disasters and thanks for joining us!

The unusual Summer 2010 coolness is over for now and probably for good.
Seasonable and even a bit of unseasonable heat is returning to California from North Ops to South Ops.
Therefore, heads up in what you do outdoors and if you are a scanner monitoring buff things should get more interesting now.
