[californiadisasters] Admin Read: BREATH!!!

Achtung Volk!

Some of us here seem to be getting a little breathless, not to mention forgetting of what this group is about which is not nuclear problems in Japan although I recognize we are down-wind of our Japanese brothers and sisters. However, no nuclear disaster has yet occurred and the odds are against one occurring.

The tsunami alert was an understandable overreaction to a measily M6.8 which is not going to trigger a tsunami unless it does so via triggering a submarine landslide of note and does anybody think the great quake of this past weekend left any precarious slopes precariously ready to slip that a mere M6.8 would set loose but not the M8.9 that is over 1,000 times larger?

Let's all take a deep breath now and calm down and try to remember that this is California Disasters and we need to keep the focus on threats here in the Golden State.

Radioactive fallout is not yet a reality here nor are any more tsunamis from Japan resulting from this past weekend's megathrust great quake.

Let's move any and all additional Japanese reports over to the discussion group and leave this group for reports of what has happened in California in the past, is happening in California now, and will happen in California in the future.

I do add to that the proviso that this would include any reasonable questions or postings of articles about what to do in California if the Japanese fail to contain their problem at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant on the east coast of Honshu because we are downwind generally-speaking.
