...PROLONGED PERIOD OF POTENTIAL THUNDERSTORMS COULD PRODUCE LIGHTNING FIRE STARTS NEXT WEEK IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS... LOW PRESSURE WILL LINGER ALONG THE COAST BEFORE GRADUALLY MOVING OVER NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BY THE MIDDLE TO END OF NEXT WEEK. THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING THE THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS STARTING OVER THE WEEKEND AND CONTINUING THROUGH MUCH OF NEXT WEEK. SOME STORMS IN THE COASTAL RANGE MAY BEGIN AS EARLY AS SATURDAY BUT ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD OVER THE AREA BY MONDAY. THE MAIN THREAT FOR LIGHTNING IS OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS BUT THE POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS ALSO COULD EXTEND INTO THE VALLEY. STORMS SHOULD BECOME INCREASINGLY WET BUT WITH SUBSTANTIAL LIGHTNING COULD PRODUCE FIRE STARTS AWAY FROM RAIN CORES.
