[californiadisasters] North Ops News & Notes Update (9/15/13-6PM)

09/15/2013 1800

CA-SRF Corral Complex:12,500, 89% contained. Expected containment 09/26/2013. Franklin, ICT3. Observed fire behavior today was minimal with only smoldering and large logs and snags holding heat. As firing and rehabilitation operations are completed, excess personnel are being released daily.

CA-KNF Forks Complex: 37,168 acres, 68% contained. Expected containment 10/01/2013. Herald, ICT3. Resources continue to make significant progress with suppression repair operations. Resources will continue to patrol the Salmon River Road, mop up to 300 ft. where completion can be made safely. Fire activity will continue to be monitored in Nordheimer drainage. Fire activity surrounding Orleans Mountain, Butler Creek and China Creek drainages will continue to be monitored.

09/15/2013 0730 CA-SHU Clover Fire: 8,073 acres, 100% contained. Expected containment 9/15/2013. Smith, CAL FIRE Team 5. Fire crews will continue with mop up and patrol activities which will be comingled with returning residential activity. California Incident Management Team 5 will transition the Clover incident back to the Shasta-Trinity Unit at 1300 hrs. Repopulation Plan has concluded. Demobilization continues.

CA-SRF Corral Complex: 12,500 acres, 79% contained. Expected containment 09/20/2013. Franklin, ICT3. The fire showed minimal growth overnight due to heavy bucket work and increasing humidity. Crews will continue checking fire spread through direct line construction and will improve check lines between the fires edge and primary indirect control lines where needed.

CA-KNF Forks Complex:37,168 acres, 68% contained. Expected containment 10/01/2013. Herald, ICT3. Crews last night observed minimal low to moderate fire behavior backing down the hill. Fire crews will continue to monitor, hold and patrol containment lines in the Somes Mountain area where a burnout operation took place. Resources will continue to patrol the Salmon River Road, mop up to 300 ft. where completion can be made safely. Fire activity will continue to be monitored in Nordheimer drainage.
