[Volcano_Vista_HS] VVHS Parent Advisory News

Mark your calendars!  Come and join us for our first meeting of the 2013-2014 school year next Thursday, September 12 at noon in the VVHS main office conference room. We generally meet on the second Thursday of the month with the principal and activities director to go over what is happening at the school.  Everyone is welcome!

 

We currently have all of our Parent Advisory board member positions filled but are seeking parents who would like to be representatives at the school's Instructional Council (IC) Meetings.  The IC meets the 1rst and 3rd Mondays of each month, starting at approximately 3:15 at VVHS.  The request is for one parent representative from each grade level, and right now we have one parent representative who's child is in the Freshman class.  Any parents of Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors who are interested or have questions, please reply to this e-mail for more details.

 

More Parent Advisory Reminders:

• Check out the new VVHS website at volcanovista@aps.edu and click
  on the Parent Advisory tab to find out more about what we do at VVHS and how you can be involved
• If you have not yet filled out a VVHS Volunteer Form (found on the VVHS website), you can become a member and make a suggested $10 donation (optional)  to help with all of the programs we support.  You can mail it to VVHS or send with your student to the main office.
• Sign up for the Smiths Earn and Learn program online or by printing the VVHS flyer to take to Smith's for them to scan (VVHS is number 80114 on the Smith's Earn and Learn website).  Once you are enrolled, a percentage of all of your purchases will go directly to the Earn and Learn Program, but you have to renew every school year!
• And, finally, forward this e-mail to all of your friends who have not yet signed up for this Yahoo group so they can get signed up (instructions also on the VVHS website).  The better informed we all are, the more effective we can be as a community, supporting VVHS students and staff!
