Winterball Tickets are on sale for $15 per ticket during lunch in the activities office. You must have your student ID in order to purchase a ticket. If you are bringing a guest that is not a student at Volcano Vista High School please be sure to have a completed guest permission slip with yourID. Tickets will go up to $20 on the 5th. Winterball is February 7 in the gym from 8 to 11pm.

Friday is Spirit Day- We play Cibola that night.
SWING DANCING: During lunch today in the gym there will be students and faculty members teaching swing dancing. Mr. Christenson aka Vanilla Ice will make a special appearance and you can still give money to your favorite Winterball Court member for a dance and a chance to win the crown.
Friday is Spirit Day- There will be a short pep rally during lunch on Friday to promote the Hawks as they take on the Cibola Courgars Friday night..
BSU Do you like to dance? Do you enjoy Hip Hop? If so, we have the club for you. Please stop by Room H206 on Friday, February 6th during lunch to learn more information. We are looking for enthusiastic students who have experience with dance and would like to join this brand new club. If you have any questions, please get a hold of Jake Gonzales or Mrs. Vasquez in H206.
Hawkword Moments Literary magazine is your literary magazine and the best in New Mexico! We need your creativity to make this year's Lit Mag fabulous. Submit your poetry, prose, artwork, photography, or multi-media pieces. Submission forms and guidelines can be found on Mrs. Rizzardi's VVHS faculty page, outside room H219, or from your friendly, neighborhood English teacher. Don't pass up this opportunity to become published! The submission deadline has been extended to February 20th.
Math NHS The deadline to turn in your Math T-shirt designs for the Math NHS design contest is this Friday, February 6th. The design contest form can be located outside of H217 and may be submitted to Mr. Guzman. All students and staff are welcome to submit designs and the winning designer will receive a free t-shirt of their design.
Yearbook is having a sweetheart of a deal on senior ads! The early January prices have been extended thru Feb. 14th. Order forms are outside the activities office.
COUNSELING:
CNM Onsite visit is scheduled for Monday February 9th during lunch in computer Lab E202. This Onsite Admissions visit is if you are wanting to enroll for Fall 2015 please plan on attending to complete your online application and have questions answered by the CNM reps.
ATHLETICS
GOLF Students who are interested in trying out for the Spring Golf Team must come by room A-204 to see Coach Cota. The Golf Season begins on February 23rd, and there are a limited number of spots remaining on the boys and girls team. Students must see Coach Cota in A-204 to obtain tryout information and secure a tee time for tryouts on February 23rd.
GIRL'S TENNIS: Tryouts start Monday at Sierra Vista. A current sports physical is required to participate.
WRESTLING will be at Sandia on Saturday at 10:30.
BOYS TENNIS: Tryouts begin Monday February 9th, if interested you will need to have a physical form complete before participating. For more information see Mr. Roybal in H131
BOYS BASKETBALL plays in the ring of fire Friday at 7 against Cibola
GIRLS BASKETBALL plays at Cibola on Friday at 7
SWIMMING will be in the Rio Rancho Pool on Saturday at 10.
