HYAMPOM, Calif. -
U.S. Forest Service says the Saddle Fire is 90 percent contained, as of Thursday morning. The fire has burned 1,546 acres and has not grown in at least 24 hours. Officials expect to have the fire fully contained by Friday around noon.
That's about a week and a half after the fire was started due to lightning. The fire started on June 9, northwest of the town of Hyampom.
Residents in the area of Hyampom and surrounding areas can expect to see smoke from smoldering logs for some time, even after the fire is fully contained.
