There is a glow to the sw late tonight fromTehachapi that was not there earlier tonight. We believe it looks more like the area of the Rye fire (but hard to tell in the dark here from so far away). What's ominous is how it becomes a bright red glow....then nothing, then returns...almost like it's flaring up and down through the pass there. I understand that there is a major change of direction of the wind (from Ventura scanner reports) with it now blowing strongly onshore.
