Bear Fire; CA-SNF-1940, Fresno County, south of Edison Lake,

700 acres 50% contained, fire is burning in bear clover, heavy timber, and brush.

Minimal spread today with some single tree smoldering

Wheats Fire; CA-STF-002863, East of Spicer Reservoir in Tuolumne County

260 acres, 80% contained.  Fire was active with some spot fires and isolated torching.

A trail closure is in effect for those trails adjacent to the fire.

Indian Fire; CA-OVD-00942, Highway 120 and Baxter Spring, southeast of Mono Lake

7,000 acres, 30% contained.  Threat to the Granite Mountain Wilderness, Sage Grouse habitat,

cultural areas, Recreational areas, and watershed.

Chihuahua Fire; CA-MVU-008547, north of Chihuahua Valley Road, near Warner Hot Springs.

250 acres, 0% contained.

Fire spotting in heavy chaparral, powerlines down in the area. Threat to Sunshine Summit,

There is a second fire within ½ mile of the main fire

The incident will be managed as a complex.

Piute Complex;  12 miles south of Lake Isabella, 1,799 acres, 75% contained.

Fire spread has been stopped. With isolated hotspots.

Armario Fire; CA-TCU-007291, Soulsbyville, 30 acres, 90% contained

Chihuahua Fire; CA-MVU-8547, Chihuahua Valley Road, Northeast of Warner Springs

Start Date: 08/08/12 @ 1320 hours.  100 AC, 0% contained

Slow rate of spread, potential for extended attack fire • 98˚23% RH, winds north @ 12 mph ,

Cumulous clouds over fire area.

No current threat to structure or power lines.

Major access problems due to roads being washed out.

Ugly terrain with rock escarpments hamper suppression efforts.

Wheats Fire, CA-STF-002863; east of Spicer Reservoir, 225 acres, 60% contained. Fairly active interior with some spotting and isolated torching.

Piute Complex, CA-SQF-002476; 12 miles south of Lake Isabella, 1,799 acres 50% contained. At this time the forward spread of the fire has been stopped.  The fire is in very steep terrain with difficult access. There is potential for fire to roll out to the east due to steep terrain.

Indian Fire, CA-OVD-000942; east of Mono Lake, 5,000 acres 30% contained, potential for 7,000 acres, at this time the left flank is secured.
