On This Date In California Weather History...
1984: Gusty winds as high as 55 mph blew down trees in the southern Sierra and knocked down almond trees and cotton crops and damaged some roofs in the San Joaquin Valley.
1978: An F0 tornado touched down near Buttonwillow.
1898: Highest temperature ever in April at Fresno, 101 degrees (also set on April 24, 1910).
Visalia reached a sweltering 103 degrees.
