Which is why engines are stored in ‘the barn’ even today.
All I know of horses is which end bites and which end is the fertilizer source, watch out for the hooves too. I used to ride a lifetime ago, but never seriously. Heh.
I started off in fire life riding tailboard and wish OSHA would mind their own business sometimes. Except for rain, it’s the best ride in the house, for short distances. You get full view of weather, burn and smoke conditions, in short you can make your own size-up to add with what you’re told. Great ride the new kids won’t understand.

Back in the day when you used to play, did you ride the tail board or did they allow you to drive the horses ? oops ! |
