Well the family isn’t happy either. If you’ve never been in that kind of a stressful situation, I wouldn’t judge.
There is the chance of additional time from a special circumstance clause (using his department weapon). Plus there is chance for him to be tried in Federal court under civil rights (a different charge, no double jeopardy issues). Then in civil court… He was CONVICTED, didn’t please no contest, so he’ll be in court for years.
The sound bites aren’t promising for a peaceful time, it’ll be a LONG night in

It should have been VOLUNTARY manslaughter. (I am white by the way.)
Though I believe that what showed on the tape was a distraught
surprised Mehserle, that he didn't intend to use the gun, STILL
what he DID intend was excessive force so that should have
made up for the lack of intent to kill. But I wouldn't go for murder
first or second degree.

Mehserle (sp) guilty of involuntary manslaughter (2-4 years in prison, determined later). OPD etc. gearing up BIG TIME, downtown is almost empty (saw it on the local news from Sac).
