UPDATE (Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, 9:30 p.m.)—O'Neill Canyon residents were allowed back to their homes around 8 p.m., after a day of worry and frustration at having no time to pack belongings before being told to evacuate this afternoon.
UPDATE (Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, 9 p.m.)—El Tejon Unified School District Superintendent Katie Kleier was asked about ETUSD's plans for opening schools tomorrow: "The last report I got is that it looks pretty good that we will open school tomorrow," Kleier said in a telephone interview this evening. "We are waiting on a status report from the fire department, Our decision will be made first thing in the morning.
