UPDATE (Tues., Aug. 24, 2010, 10:56)— El Tejon School District will close all schools Wednesday. Firefighters said they do not have a dozer line in behind the school. It is a simpler process to close all the schools. Kern County Fire personnel were concerned that "if something happened" with fire conditions, it would become much more complicated to also have to evacuate the school. The schools closed Tuesday due to the heat.
