Or reduced down:  to use ICS, live it in everyday life.  What you are trained to do is how you will act when stressed.  Learn your place (job), your neighbors place, every job below you and at least one level above so you can take over when there is a need.  Japan treats business as war (with frequent heavy government backing); why shouldn’t we do the same?  Business ICS makes sense.

BTW, monthly fire drills are a state requirement.  As a courtesy, I didn’t ever pull an unscheduled drill, but I’d ask so they knew I could and would.

One drill per year is nowhere close to providing proficiency. All the more
so when the people drilling are not acquainted with even the concept of a
"command structure". Public schools typically have one fire drill per month
(and yet I've witnessed teachers not knowing what to do when an
"unscheduled" alarm sounds!).
