The 2011 Great California ShakeOut on October 20 at 10:20 a.m. is now four weeks away, and more than 7.6 million Californians are registered! We're closing in on last year's record (7.9 million), plus more than 425,000 people are also registered for ShakeOut drills this October 20th in Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Guam, and British Columbia. If you participated last year and have not yet confirmed your registration for 2011, please log in today. A great way to help your community, your employer, and others to prepare, survive, and recover is to encourage them to register to participate in the Great California ShakeOut. Let them know you are participating and ask them to join you, perhaps by using email, facebook, twitter, or by placing one of the ShakeOut web banners on your website. You can also display posters, distribute flyers, and use other materials available on the ShakeOut Resources page, including suggested text for newsletters or emails you might send. |
