[californiadisasters] [LAFD] Massive Power Outage Leaves Many Asking, "Am I Prepared"?

A disruption in an Arizona transmission line led to an immense power outage from Orange County to Mexico leaving almost a million and a half residents of San Diego County without electricity. Many are expected to be without power until tomorrow and are left enduring the heat on back-up generators. Fortunately this outage has not resulted in a significant impact to life and property, but it serves as a reminder...

What if a power outage lasted longer? Am I prepared to be without electricity?

During National Preparedness Month, the Los Angeles Fire Department asks you to assure your emergency supply kit has...
  • A sturdy Flashlight and/or Battery Powered Lantern
  • A small Battery Powered AM/FM Radio for Emergency Information
  • Extra batteries in commonly used sizes
...in addition to these basic items.

Just like the men & women of the Los Angeles Fire Department are prepared as Ready Responders, you too can get Ready and be prepared for whatever may come
