Moderator's Note: These were Friday's announcements so some things have taken place :)
Happy Birthday, New Mexico! Today is the 100th anniversary of New Mexico statehood. On this day in 1912, President Taft signed the paperwork proclaiming New Mexico as the 47th state. We beat Arizona by a month! Take a moment today to appreciate our beautiful state.
TEACHERS AND STUDENTS: In today's edition of the Albuquerque Journal newspaper there is a wonderful magazine celebrating New Mexico statehood. If you received a copy of the newspaper today, either at home or here at school, would you please give that magazine supplement to any VVHS Social Studies teacher once you have finished with it? We are trying to collect as many copies aspossible for our New Mexico History classes to use.
