Don't miss this year's Open Space Art Show featuring great art by Volcano Vista High Fine Arts students. Work includes two and three dimensional work, drawing, painting, photography and video, all related to our great Open Space areas. The exhibit runs from Jan 7th through February 28th at the Albuquerque Open Space Visitor's center, 6500 Coors Blvd. NW which is south of Paseo del Norte near Montano Blvd. Stop by and support our great Art students! Youth and Government will meet in Mr. Brown's room on Friday for students who would like to sign up or need more information.
MESA, the math and science club will meet today after school in Mr. G's room. Supply lists for winter design are due to Mrs. Bitner ASAP.
The H Hall DECA snack bar will be closed this Thursday.

Volcano Vista High School Fine Arts students will present their work in a public exhibit and show Friday, January 13, 2012 in the school's main concourse and Performing Arts Center. Works in Photography, 2-D and 3-D Art, Video and Film, and Computer Graphics will be on display, all crafted by VVHS students from the various art classes at VVHS. Come show your support and see some awesome art! The Awards presentation will be held near the performing Arts Center at 6p.m.
ZERO HOUR CLASSES – if you currently have a zero hour class on your schedule, you MUST attend (just like all your other classes). If you do not attend the class, you will receive an `F'. The teacher will not take care of this for you to avoid the grade penalty. If there is an issue with attending, see your counselor NOW to address the situation. If you need to ADD a zero hour class to your schedule, see your counselor NOW.
There will be a Senior Cabinet meeting in Mrs. Well's classroom, F210 at lunch on Wednesday. We are planning Winterball so everyone needs to be there.
There will be a Junior House meeting in Mrs. Bullard's classroom, A101 at lunch on Wednesday. We are planning the 2012 Prom so everyone needs to be there.
Sophomore Senate and Officers: We will meet on Wed, January 11th, at lunch in Ms. Riley's room in A Hall to finalize our T Shirt project.
There will be a Freshmen Forum meeting in Mr. Neidigk's classroom, A116 at lunch on Wednesday.
Seniors: We are taking nominations for senior superlatives. Stop by activities to pick up a nomination form. Please return them by Wednesday, January 11th to the activities office. Seniors will be voting for the 2012 Senior Superlatives during your advisory on the 25th.
National Honor Society Juniors and Seniors: Our first mandatory meeting of the semester will be held today at lunch. Juniors will meet with Ms Torres in H209 and Seniors will meet with Mrs Jones in E203. Be sure you sign in and check the eligibility lists.
If you need a lock for your locker they are on sale during lunch in the activities office for $4.00.
Any student needing credit recovery needs to seetheir Academy counselor. eCademy registration is now online and your counselor can register you to save you the hassle of standing in line. Registration cost is $15 cash or money order and you can make payment in the bookroom during working hours. See your counselor for more details.
Senate is selling Hawks Scarves for $10.00. Stop by the activities office to purchase one during lunch.
Remember the outdoor snack bar by the track field and tennis courts? It's reopening this Wednesday with more healthy options, including our famous Subway meal deals, plus soups, salads, and fruit. Come out and grab a healthy option- open at 11:15 everyday for lunch!
All boys that plan to un track must be in A101 at lunch on Friday, January 20th for a meeting.
Wrestling has a tournament at La Cueva today at 7.
