Notes:		On this date in 1915 Mount Lassen following three days of ever-intensifying activity let loose with a climactic plinian eruption whose column rose over five miles into the atmosphere. Due to prior evacuations of the area nobody was harmed in this largest eruption in the eruptive sequence of 1914-1917.
