with water were able to drop..
this morning the fire continued to burn in sycamore canyon area of point mugu. earlier the fire jumped across
deer creek canyon road, neighborhoods of deer creek and yerba buena were still under evaucation
the neighborhood of university glen near the campus was reopend today for residents only
8:30am - the red cross shelter were set up in thousand oaks and camerillo only a few people there
9:30am - ffs were able to protect the navel stallite station on laguana peak on point mugu state park
9:46am - the old navy shooting range was on fire , on pch
9:52am -the fire jumped pch and was burning brush near the seabee shooting range of near point mugu
10:02 am - reports came in as to power lines down on pch near the shooting range
10:32 am - fire changed direction and officals called calfire for structure protection on los posas road
11:05am - csu channel islands remains closed unknw when it will be reopend but it could be as early as monday
11:06 am -the winds changed direction once again pushing the fire from the ocean creating dangerous erratic winds
in the point mugu area
11:22am - there was a flare up on the csu channel islands
11:24 am- navy officals issued a mandatory evaucation due to the heavyness of the smoke in the area of san miquel
11:30 am - this fire had or has 8 helicopters and 6 fixed wing air craft
11:42 am - la county sherrif set up a command post that malibu civic center with the fire department in case the fire
caused them to send out evaucations ,
11:44 am - flareup on potreo road and hidden valley are near newberry springs
12 noon - winds were pushing the fire up big sycamor canyon
12:06pm- ic was down to 7 helicopters and 5 air tankers
12:15 pm ffs at deer creek road where using their hand tools and chain saws and even their own hands to help remove
the debris that would start a fire
12:33 pm officals evauated hidden valley / rehino valley and hidden valley road
fire was cresting above big sycamore canyon
12:40 pm - potero road is closed btw reino road and hidden valley,
12:49 pm- Fire officals are saying the media and their equiptment was causing trouble for ffs trying to get thru to other parts
of the fire
12:59pm red cross shelters were going up. one at thousand oaks comunity center at 2525 north moorpark
#2 at calvary chapel at 380 moorpark way
then the 3rd one at malibu high school, at 30215 morning view drive
1:05pm- a call went out for an immediate evacuation for the south side of the potero road ara from rhino road east
to the 930 w potreo road including hidden valley road south
1:45pm - fire concerns at the navel base were way down
2pm- the folks at the spirit equestrain center had or have room for horses needing to evacuate the area
2:24pm- power lines down on deer creek road
the closure of potreo road has been extended to trentwood drive near lake sherwood
2:37pm - fire continues to move towards hidden valley, but no reports of homes been destroy
2:45 pm -the emergency management agency, said they have authorized funds for fighting this fire
as much as 7% %
shelburn farms have moved out their horses to from the path of this fire
hidden valley is above thousand oaks
the fire is not burning across the bio techonolgy complex off ranch conejo as of 3:30 pm
but alot of smoke and ash has been falling
4:16 pm voluntary evacuations were called for the sections of newberry park/ east of windy drive
north of potreo / south of lynn road and weat of west kelly road
5:14pm ffs were saying that if the r. h ( relative humidity picks up tontite this will make the fire very agressive
in the hidden valley area and newberry parks area..
eariler about 5: 50 the fire was looking pretty good along potreo road,, south of newberry park
by 6pm the weather had turned cooler ,
ffs will continue to protect homes on hidden valley ,,
