1996: Heavy rain on top of snow caused the Merced River to flood in Yosemite Valley.
Over $2 million in flood damages occurred.

1977: 4" of snow fell at Glenbrook.

1970: It was 99° in San Luis Obispo, setting a record high for May.

1956: It was 104° in Escondido, the highest temperature on record for May.
