05/17	1900	Grand Fire CA-LPF-1281 Frazier Park, Kern County 4,300 acres, 55% contained There are still areas of isolated heat and interior torching.
05/17	1700	Lake Fire CA-LAC-118144 Start time 1323 hrs. Approximately 350 acres, 0% containment Rapid rate of spread, 71 degrees, 53% humidity, wind 10 mph SW Threat to 220 KV powerlines, the Lake Hills Elementary School has been evacuated. Southbound I-5 is shut down at Lake Hughes Road. Ridge Route is closed at Pine Crest Road.  The fire is burning towards Lake Castaic.
05/17	0715	Grand Fire CA-LPF-1281 Fire in Unified Command Cal Fire IMT 6 (Kaslin) and USFS (D'Andres). 4,100 acres and 35% contained.  Increased acreage based on 0300 hrs. Infrared Flight.  The Frazier Mountain Communication facility continues to be a concern. Hungry Valley State Park, Frazier Mtn. (8N42), Gold Hill Road (8N01) still remain closed. Crews made excellent progress in all divisions last night, even as the fire continued to make moderate runs to the southwest.
