[Geology2] Re: Color of Money: Sparkling Blue Mineral May Sell for $100K



I met a mineralogist once who had the only specimens of a particular mineral in the world.  He had collected them from a volcanic crater in Africa and that was the only place they were known to be from. But when he went back a few years later the volcano had become active and covered the floor with basalt flows. There were no more samples.
 
 I've always wondered how much those specimens would be worth.
