Time for Open Mic Night again! This Friday, November 22, come and watch VVHS talent perform in our blackbox. General Admission is $7, but you get in $5 with your student ID. You also get a free literary magazine with your ticket. Sign up sheets will be in Ms. Montoya's room (H219). The cost to perform is $1. We hope to see you on Friday!
T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST: The emerging communications classes are holding a t-shirt design contest for Autism Awareness Month. Entries are due by November 26th. The students in the emerging communications program will make decisions on final designs. The winning design will be printed on t-shirts and sold during Autism Awareness Month in February. Please submit entries to E-104 by November 26th. Ask Mr. Wiltamuth, Mrs. Ferris, or Mrs. Fitzgerald if you have questions about this contest. They are located in E-Hall.
Hawkword Moments, Volcano's literary magazine will be needing your art, poetry, short stories, and essays by the end of the semester. See Ms. Montoya in room H219 for further details.
WING SQUAD: Don't forget there is a Wing Squad meeting this Friday in room H107. There will be pizza and we are distributing the club T-shirts. This is a mandatory meeting for all members.
Faculty/Staff and students, administrators will be coming by during 5th period this week and next to recognize students that received a 3.5 GPA or HIGHER for the 2nd 6 week grading period. Close to 25% of the school population have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Congratulations to all these students and the school challenges all of our students to push to reach this 3.5 or higher GPA goal.
The Gay Straight Alliance will be meeting today at lunch in Room A120. All who are interested are welcome to attend. The mission of the GSA is to help create a safe environment for all students and promote tolerance of diversity in the school.
November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month! The Girls Basketball team would like Administration, staff and students to join them in wearing Purple on Friday, November 22. It's Purple for a Purpose! Let's all get involved…Know It, Fight It, End It!!!!
Girls Track Team-There will be a team meeting for the members of last year's track team today at lunch. We will meet in H108, Coach Schrader's classroom.
Classes at eCADEMY began Monday, November 18, 2013. Orientations are today, at 4, 5 and 6PM. Be on time and wear your student ID. Parents are welcome. Any student who has not logged in and completed assignments by Thursday, November 21 will be put on a "NO SHOW" list, locked out of their class and the process to drop the student from the class will begin.
Attention MESA members competing on Friday...please bring your signed permission slips to our lunch meeting today. We need to get a more accurate count of participants.
