Cooper's Type 2 IMT team was in briefed tonight at 1600.

Rock Creek and Fish Creek Campgrounds have been evacuated.

Fire is in inaccessible terrain causing suppression challenges.

Road Closures: 10S18 Rd- the section of road between Ross Cabin and Grizzly Cutoff Rd.

Service power lines have been damaged and more are threatened.

Power lines in the area have been deactivated.

 

El Portal Fire, CA-YNP-0083 Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Co.

Location: Near Highway 140 and community of El Portal,

FRA

CIIMT 5 (Joseph).

2,700 Acres, 5% contained.

Continued closure of Big Oak Flat Road.

Small runs in lighter fuels in lower elevations. Active backing and flanking in some locations.

Merced Grove of Giant Sequoias within Yosemite National Park still threatened.

Structure defense and evacuations of communities of El Portal and Foresta continue.

A public meeting will be held in El Portal this evening with an expected

attendance of 300 residents including those under evacuations.

 

Dark Hole Fire, CA-YNP-0057, Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Co.

Location Yosemite Creek south of Tioga Rd, 1.5 miles south of Yosemite Creek CG

590 acres, 5% contained

Fire is being suppressed by constructing handline and using MIST tactics.

Aircraft continue to be used to assist firefighters with water drops when needed.

 

Kelley Fire, CA-MMU-013131, Stevenson, Merced County

Location: River Rd. X Kelley Rd, Stevenson CA

LRA

Type 3 IC (Felix)

1,100 acres, 90% contained.

Fire burning in light willow and woodland in riverbed and surrounding areas.

No longer a threat to Hatfield State Park.

Fire is staying within containment lines.

Heavy dependence on Type 1 Hand Crews and aviation assets due to steep and remote terrain.

Fire burning in light willow and woodland in riverbed and surrounding areas.

Current potential threat to Hatfield State Park, local agricultural, and several gun clubs.

Potential threat to local agricultural, State park and Private owned gun clubs.
