El Portal Fire, CA-YNP-0083 Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Co.

Location: Near Highway 140 and community of El Portal,

CIIMT 5 (Joseph).

2,600 Acres, 5% contained.

Structure defense and evacuations continue, 90 single residences and 50 other structures threatened,

The Big Oak Flat Road between Crane Flat and the El Portal Road is temporarily closed.

Threats include; 90 single residences and 50 other structures, Major high voltage lines (PG&E), and Major Park highway closure within Yosemite National Park at peak visitation. This closure has a major impact to the local economy of the Park's gateway communities.

 

Dark Hole Fire, CA-YNP-0057, Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Co.

Location Yosemite Creek south of Tioga Rd, 1.5 miles south of Yosemite Creek CG

The Dark Hole Fire will transition (along with the El Portal Fire) to CIIMT 5 (Joseph) this evening.

825 acres, 5% contained.

25 acres of new growth today, group and single tree torching.

Most active on the east side of the fire.

 

Kelley Fire, CA-MMU-013131, Stevenson, Merced County

Location: River Rd. X Kelley Rd, Stevenson CA

1,000 acres, 25% contained.

Fire burning in light willow and woodland in riverbed and surrounding areas.

Current potential threat to Hatfield State Park, local agricultural, and several gun clubs.

El Portal Fire, CA-YNP-0083 Yosemite National Park, Mariposa Co.

2100 Acres, 5% Contained

CIIMT Team 5 (Joseph) will take command of the fire at 1800 hours today.

2,100 Acres, 5% contained.

1,900 acres on the Stanislaus National Forest and 200 acres on Yosemite National Park.

Rapid Rate of Spread, Spotting ½ mile, extreme fire behavior observed.

Structure defense and evacuations underway.

Merced Grove of Giant Sequoias threatened.

The VLAT is being shared by North and South Ops.

State Highway 120 Closed.
