Nicolls Fire, CA-SQF-2381 Kern County

1,680 acres, 75% contained.

Central Sierra Type II IMT (Cooper) in command

Limited availability of water and long turn-around times for Type 1 helicopters

to dip sites continues the need for a large commitment of aircraft.

Construction of direct handline requires a continued heavy commitment of

Type 1 IHCs and Type 1 and 2 Helicopters.

Due to lack of inclement weather; seven crews remain spiked on fire.

An evacuation plan for inclement weather has been completed.

Central Sierra Type II IMT (Cooper) in command

Surge of tropical moisture from the south east is expected to move into the area today.

Dry lightning is a possibility but most activity will be associated with moisture.

In anticipation of today's weather all but four crews will be pulled.

Evacuation plan of Nicolls incident has been completed.

Demobilization of resources is being discussed and may begin in next day or two.
