2012: A heavy snowstorm dumped deep snow in the mountains starting on 3/17 and ending on 3/19.
Ski resorts, Arrowbear Lake, and the top of the Palm Springs Tramway reported over 24" of snow.
15" fell at Big Bear Lake, 14" in Mt. Laguna, up to 13" in Wrightwood, 11" in Pine Cove, and 10" in Forest Falls and Idyllwild.
A trace of snow fell as low as 1500 feet in Hemet.
Numerous traffic accidents on the snowy and icy highways resulted.

2004: Livermore reported a high of 84° F.

2002:
A cold storm brought 3" of snow to Apple Valley, the greatest daily snow amount for March.
1" fell in Hesperia.

1991: An 89 mph wind gust was logged at the Tehachapi Airport in association with a frontal passage.
Tile was peeled off roofs, fences were blown over and power lines were taken down.

1991:
The Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo County was closed by snow as were Highway 58 and Highway 46 and Highway 41 in Eastern SLO Co.

1991: A vigorous storm that started on 3.17 and ended on 3.20 produced 1"-8" of rainfall in lower elevations and up to 14" of precipitation in the mountains.
6.17" fell at Mt. Wilson and 4" fell in Santa Barbara.
24"-60" of snow fell in the mountains.
Local flooding and mud slides resulted.

1982: A storm that started on 3.16 and ended on this day produced 2"-4" of rain in San Diego County.
2.13" of rain fell in 24 hours in Pt. Loma from 3.17 to this day.
Local flooding closed many streets.
25" of snow were recorded at Palomar Mountain on this day, the greatest daily snowfall on record.

1977: It was 28° F in Borrego Springs, the lowest temperature on record for March.

1952: 15" of snow fell at Glenbrook, NV, (east shore Lake Tahoe).
