08/12/2015 - 4:00 p.m.         

The first operational air tanker in the history of aviation made the first air drop on August 12, 1955 on the Mendocino National Forest. This will be its 60th anniversary.

The National Weather Service - Medford has upgraded the fire weather watch for the area of Modoc county to a Red Flag Warning. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/firewx/cafw/rfwwarningsbycwa.php?pil=XXXRFWMFR

National Weather Service - Reno has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low humidity. The warning is from Thursday 1400 hours until Friday 1100 hours for the area from Lake Tahoe north along the California border to Modoc county. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/firewx/cafw/rfwwarningsbycwa.php?pil=XXXRFWREV

National Weather Service - Medford has issued a fire weather watch for gusty winds and low humidity from early Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon for the area of Modoc county. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/firewx/cafw/rfwwarningsbycwa.php?pil=XXXRFWMFR
