SENIORS: Sign up for Homecoming Court. Pick up the application form at the Activities Office. All forms are due on Friday at the meeting in the Lecture Hall during lunch. Your picture will be taken at that time for the ballot. You must have a 2.0 GPA and be involved in at least 2 activities on the VVHS campus.



The Library is giving away more nonfiction books. Look for the "Free Books" sign on the tables. You can stop during the day and after school until 2:45.


AUDITIONS for the October 1 - 3 production of The Crucible will be held on Friday, August 28 and Monday, August 31 from 2:30 - 4:00 in the Performing Arts Center. Please prepare a memorized, one-minute dramatic monologue for the audition. Auditions will take place on a first come, first serve basis. Any questions? See Ms. Gonzales in J122.


FNHS: There will be a French Honor Society meeting at lunch today in E113.


Do you like Design? Are you Creative?  Come join Computer Graphics Club! Wednesdays at Lunch in E115


DODGE BALL:  Games will start promptly at 12:05 in the gym at lunch.


AMBASSADORS: Students that are interested in becoming a student ambassador for the upcoming school year, please fill out an application.  Applications are online at the VVHS website or in 9th grade academy office – Vesuvius – A121.  All ambassadors from last year DO NOT need to fill out an application.


Staff Fitness starts today after school at 2:45.  Meet in the dance room ready to sweat!



  • SOCCER: The girls team plays at 6:30 against the La Cueva Bears at the soccer complex. They will play Saturday at 1:45 against the Del Norte Knights.  The boys soccer team will play on Thursday at 6:30 against the Albuquerque Bulldogs. They will also play on Saturday at 9:15 against the Highland Hornets.

  • FOOTBALL: The first football game of the season is tonight at 7:00 at Community Stadium against the Sandia Matadors. We are the home team.

  • SOFTBALL: Attention all students interested in playing softball there will be an informational meeting at the beginning of lunch today in the lecture hall.

  • The Lady Hawks Volleyball Team is in need of 2 more managers.  If you would like to be involved and be a part of this program, please go to Coach C'deBaca in  A124 in the 9th Grade Academy or Coach Rohr in H216.
