About 50% of the news media down here is saying "dam" and not spillway.   Not surprising...

NOTE: The article CAREFULLY uses the word SPILLWAY.  The dam is not in danger at this moment, but the spillways are damaged.

The use of the emergency spillway, never used since the dam was built 48 years ago has also created potential damage issues for the main spillway.
The dumping of rocks by helicopter had NOT started, according to the reports show on the 11 PM news.
