Re: [californiadisasters] Strongest Storm in Years Takes Aim at Southern California

I drove from Truckee to Camp Pendleton in this mess yesterday.  Light snow in the Truckee area, and then rain the whole rest of the way!   Strong winds down I5.  Rock slides in the Grapevine with two lane closures on the northbound lanes, lots of rocks in the road in the southbound lanes, Frazier Park (sp?) road closures, all southbound lanes of I5 shut down at Sheldon Blvd in the LA area, and lots and lots and lots of water on the road. Saw quite a few spin outs due to cars hydroplaning (sp?) - cars not slowing down!  Also heard on the scanner - I mostly listened to CHP on the way down - lots of road closures  in the Ventura and San Luis Obisbo (sp?) counties.

Watching San Diego news this morning - quite a few trees into homes, power outages (not widespread), and a couple of fatalities due to vehicle accidents (again peeps not slowing down!)

Calling for 70 per cent chance of more rain today.  Saw reports of 1 to 2 inches in the San Diego area...
