[Volcano_Vista_HS] Daily Announcements Thursday, February 1, 2018

Good Morning Hawks

Today is Thursday, February 1, 2018

Please rise for the pledge

Today is the first day of Black History Month.

This day in American history:

In 1960, the Greensboro four did their first lunch-counter sit-in in North Carolina in a non-violent protest against segregation. Despite physical attacks from customers, the protest went on for nearly 6 months. Over 55 cities nationwide participated in similar protests, which culminated in the Civil Rights Act banning segregation in public accommodations.

This week is SPIRIT WEEK

Flannel or Super Bowl Friday

Today we will be having a 1-hour lunch. There will be 9 food trucks here and an elective fair during lunch. Check the signs in the hall to see who will be here. All the trucks will be located in the bus lot outside of A-Hall. The trucks will take cash, credit or debit cards.
