Re: [californiadisasters] Re: Bull Incident - Sequoia N.F.

A report from my friend Rhea who lives near the fire.
The fire started about 2:pm, today, July 26,2010.  It's starting location is at the big rock, near the cascading pools on the Bull Run Trail.  It is believed that it was started by 2  guys about 22 y/o.   The firemen met these 2 guys on the trail, spoke to them and sent them back to their car.  Then the firemen radioed ahead and the sheriffs took the boys in.   No confirmation on that yet.

The fire moved rapidly towards the North, down Borland Road, and crossed the river into River Kern.  Burma Rd was evacuated and no homes were burnt.  River Kern was evacuated completely and has suffered the most damage.  6 homes have been burnt at this time, but more are seriously threatened.  We are about 2 miles from the trailhead and at 4:30 PM, we were told to prepare for evacuation, and about 8:30 were told we would not have to evacuate.

At 5ish this evening, the Canal (SP?)Trail has been burning to the top and around the back.
The fire has also spread toward Green Horn, but as of yet, I don't know any more about that area.   As of now, 12:15 AM, the fire is not contained and still moving fast.  The last report is that 4200 acres have been burnt.
