Numerous trees and power lines were downed in the San Diego County interior.
A Garden Grove school incurred roof damage.
The Etiwanda fire near Rancho Cucamonga broke out.
1988: An earthquake 46 miles west of San Diego generated large surf of 14 feet with sets to 20 feet.
