[californiadisasters] FW: September is National Preparedness Month (NPM)



I know all of you have similar messages/events, but I wanted to share these with you.  In the meantime, I’d like to encourage everyone to sign up and become part of the National Preparedness Coalition: http://community.fema.gov/connect.ti/READYNPM or http://community.fema.gov/connect.ti/readynpm/view?objectId=191603&exp=e1

 

As the schedules firm up, we will post these to Ready.Gov’s Calendar.

 

Here are a couple of the events OPM is sponsoring, Sep - Oct:

 

(1)  OPM is Ready W/FEMA’s Office of National Capital Region Coordination… Sep 13, 2012 at 10:00 am (from 10-2, we will be in our main (E Street) lobby – 19th and E St NW).

(2)  CPR-AED Training – Date TBA. (for OPM Employees only).

 

(3)  Build Your Kit Day(s) – Date TBA

 

(4)  Earthquake Safety Training – Date TBA (in preparation for the Great Southeast Shakeout on October 18, 2012.

September is National Preparedness Month

 

September is National Preparedness Month (NPM). National Preparedness Month is sponsored by FEMA"s Ready Campaign in partnership with Citizen Corps. NPM each September to encourage Americans to make sure they are prepared for disasters or emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities.

 

We are encouraging you to take these four steps to become prepared for any emergency:

 

  1. Be Informed – Sign Up for OPM and Local Emergency Alerts;
  2. Make a Family / Personal Emergency Plan,
  3. Build an Emergency Kit ; and
  4. Get Involved in your local community and here at OPM
