Re: [Geology2] Re: The Earth Moved

Obviously Barry, you are one of those folks who isn't "certified." That means that you've never taken a geology class, or that you don't read much, or that you cannot comprehend the mechanics of the earth. Well, do you want to return to the visions of Hapgood who might have written Mae West's line, "Beulah, peel me a grape?" What about Lord Kelvin who said the world was 6k years old and pretty much thought fossils were poppycock? Or wait, let's invest in those folks who aren't "certified" and claim that the weather controls earthquakes, the moon controls earthquakes, and that they can predict earthquakes given a prescribed, nonsensical theory. Let's just throw away all the safeguards we have in place that protect us from crackpots and snake oil salesmen.

The truth is that without all those years of education, standing on the shoulders of giants, as it were, to earn a degree (aka certification?), and WITH publication, we would have shit for science.

By the way, that chip on your shoulder may be what's causing you to lean a certain direction, but men who lean one way too far have a tendency to fall over. FYI.

Dear Eman,

That's a pretty brutal email.

I'll attempt to answer your points one by one.

Ben,
It is a standard (or what ever you call it) rule that if you start to make any kind of sense in science, but are not a certified (  what ever that means these days) scientist, then you must be brought down.  Facts do not matter it is just the way it is.  Be proud as it can be easily seen that you must be making sense.  And by the way, anyone who has eyes can plainly see that the earth is flat. Oh, and that the sun revolves around us.  That was the "Standard" theory given for so many years by our "Certified" scientists.  You are talking to scientists who are very good at what they do, but are not so tolerant.  And I mean that in the best way as I have watched them for years now.  Good luck.
