08/11/2013 | 1800 | CA -TNF American Fire: Fire is now 500 acres, activeley burning on all sides. Central Coast Type2 Team has been ordered. CA-SRF Butler Fire: 8,705 acres, 20% contained. Smoke inversions broke early today with warmer temperatures. Fire behavior increased with isolated torching; flanking and lateral spread. Fire in Butler creek remains active along the ridgeline in Division K spreading to the west; surface fire behavior has been observed with isolated torching. Increased rates of spread were observed on the fire. CA-KNF Salmon River Complex: 9,874 acres, 37% contained. The east side of the fire, above Jackass Gulch, pushed to the south across the handline below Tanners Peak. Steep rugged terrain, heavy fuels, snags and rolling material hampering control efforts. Narrow roads with little to no access to the fire area. Smoke impact is limiting aerial support and reconnaissance and continues to affect local communities. CA-MNF Crocket Fire: 7 acres 25% contained. CA-LMU Coyote Fire: This fire is 97 acres, 80% contained. |
