[californiadisasters] South Ops News & Notes Update: 2013-08.09-0730

Sharp Fire CA-ANF-003783
60 acres 0% containment
Sharp Canyon just South of Wrightwood, CA.
Community of Wrightwood remains at risk along with watershed and arch
sites. Powerlines remains a concern. Active flanking, roll out and
spotting. No further information available at time of report.

Silver Fire, CA-RRU-079781
16,000 acres, 25% Contained
Cal Fire ICT#6 (Kaslin) remains in Unified Command with USFS (Felix),
Riverside County Fire Department (Hawkins) and Riverside County
Sheriff's Office (Peebles/Perdue). Incident Base is established at the
Noble Creek Community Park.

Power Fire CA-STF-2613
925 acres 40% contained
The potential for fire to spread to the north and cross the middle fork
of the Stanislaus River, into a very steep terrain with no roads. With
favorable weather conditions, and if resource needs are met the
likelihood for success is high. A demobilization plan has been approved
and put in place.

Falls Fire, CA-CNF-2512
1,416 acres 95% contained
Fire has been wind and time tested. Fire is expected to remain within
current containment lines. Suppression repairs are underway. Back haul
of hose and supplies are occurring from the fire perimeter. The Ortega
Highway remains open under CHP escorts. CALTRANS continues to repair
highway features within the fire area. Demobilization continues with
surplus resources being made available to other incidents. Management of
the fire will be transferred to a local type 3 organization on Saturday,
August 10, 2013 at 0600. SoCal IIMT#3 to close out with the forest on
Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the afternoon at Elsinore High School.

Aspen Fire CA-SNF-1732
22,172 acres 85% contained
Central Sierra Interagency Incident Management Team (Cooper) remains in
command. Most remaining fire activity is interior and burning on the
south end of the fire. Firefighters continue suppression repair and
mop-up today.
