Earlier today a new fire began on the Sierra National Forest near the Fresno-Madera County line in the Mammoth Pool area. It initially exploded across 500 acres and capped out and even now continues to generate pyrocumulus clouds. It has a lot of room to move and is becoming a major fire incident.
