Just a reminder to all Prom Court members: Pictures will be taken at lunch today in the activities office.

 

Members of the Fab 5 you need to stop by the activities office today during lunch to get your picture taken.

 

The ART CLUB will meet at lunch in room G113 today.

 

Best Buddies will have a meeting on Thursday during lunch. Please be sure to stop by. New members always welcome!

 

MDA: Attention staff and students, VVHS DECA and Senate have teamed up in an effort to send a student with muscular dystrophy to summer camp. As a school our goal is to raise $800.  Shamrocks are only $1 and with just $1 you are helping to make a difference! Thank you!

 

HOMELESS NEEDS: Be a great hawk and donate to Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless.  Please drop off socks, blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, lip balm , sunscreen, toiletries, art supplies, and healthcare items in F206 by April 30th.

 

Attention all Volcano Vista students and staff: Our school is participating in the Read to Me Book Drive and we need your book donations! If you have any children or young adult books that you just don't need any more, come see Ms. Duran in room H107 during lunch or after school to make donations!

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is joining Wing Squad in the school-wide book drive, but with a twist :

Donate Spanish or Bilingual children's books through your Spanish class! Teacher who collects the most books by March 18 will receive 8 pizzas at lunch on March 24th!  Books will be distributed to organizations across Albuquerque who serve children in need.  ¡Vayamos los halcones!

 

COUNSELING:

  • Seniors there is still time to apply for scholarships! Go visit the college and career center during lunch, E224 and look at the scholarships available.

  • The University of New Mexico will host the 3rd annual Meet UNM Day,  Saturday, March 21 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in learning more about what UNM has to offer.  Information on Financial Aid, Student Life, Residence Life & Student Housing, Health Sciences, Engineering, Fine Arts, Architecture, Honors College as well as student-led campus tours and housing tours will be presented. RSVP at UNM's Admissions Website or see your academy counselor for more information.

  • UNM will have a representative available during lunch on Tuesday  March 24th  for any interested Seniors needing to finalize their post-graduation plans.  The rep will be in the lower E-F Concourse area during lunch.

 

ATHLETICS

  • BASEBALL: defeated Cleveland yesterday and will play at La Cueva on Thursday at 4.

  • SOFTBALL:  The Metro Tournament begins Thursday. Our girls are the #1 seed. They will play Highland here at 4.

  • TENNIS: The girl's tennis team will host Highland Friday and La Cueva on Saturday. The boys will play at Highland and La Cueva.

  • TRACK: will have a meet at Wilson Stadium on Saturday.
