2014: A Pacific storm brought moderate to heavy rain on this day through 12/4.
Two-day rainfall totals of one to 2" were recorded west of the mountains,
while the southern slopes of the San Bernardino Mountains gotup to 5" of
rain (isolated amount of 14.5" at Yucaipa Ridge).
Flooding resulted, withmud, debris and water closing several roadways and stranding vehicles.
On 12/4 mud with debris ten feet high piled up on Soboba Road north of San Jacinto.

There was considerable flooding of low lying areas of Orange County.
1966: Start of the flooding event in the Kern County Sierra Nevada, which persisted through the 8th, including flooding at Kernville.

Storm totals for the period: 27.79" in Lake Arrowhead (believed to be a 100 year rainfall), 23.73" in Palomar Mountain, 18.72" in Big Bear Lake, 17.85" in Idyllwild, 9.14" in San Bernardino, 7.63" in Redlands, 6.21" in Santa Ana, 5.19" in Riverside, 2.99" in San Diego, 2.73" in Palm Springs, but only 0.66" in Victorville and 0.28" in Barstow!
At least two homes were destroyed by floods and debris flows in Mill Creek Canyon.
Debris flows and floods damaged homes and roads in Wrightwood and Lytle Creek.
Homes and businesses were flooded in Redlands and Palm Springs.
Many roads across the region were flooded and washed out.
Scuba divers could not recover a Montclair man believed drowned in floodwaters.
Strong storm winds caused power outages.

1958: It was 95° F in Santa Ana, 93° F in Riverside and Palm Springs, 90° F in Santa Maria and Lompoc, 89° F in Santa Barbara, and 80° F in Palomar Mountain, each the highest temperature on record for December.
It also reached 80° F in Palomar Mountain the next day, 12.4.1958.
It also reached 93° F in Palm Springs on 12.7.1938.
1940: The high temperature at Reno, NV, was a very warm 71° F.
1919: 26" of snow fell at Sierraville, with 11.5" at Reno, NV.
