Location: Hwy 178 near the lower Kern River Canyon
Acres Burned: 26,196 (more accurate mapping)
Structures Threatened: 0 Structures Destroyed: 0
Containment: 70% Injuries: 1
Fire Started: September 10, 2011 Cause: Lightning Fire
Total personnel assigned to the fire: 1038
Summary:
Today firefighters will concentrate on the east side of the fire, where most of the fire activity is concentrated. Though the steep inaccessible terrain is hampering crew movement, air support of line construction will continue on the east flank. Firefighters will also continue with mop-up operations and damage repair efforts on the remainder of the fire while patrolling the fire perimeter.
The Precautionary evacuation for the Breckenridge sub division has been lifted.
The Breckenridge Complex Fires started September 10, 2011 in the early morning hours from a dry lightning storm. The Breckenridge Complex Fire started as three seperate fires;
the Spring Fire, the Cottonwood Fire, and the Milano Fire. The three fires have combined to form the complex.
Closures:
Breckenridge Road is closed between Comanche Drive and Caliente-Bodfish Road

Current Situation:
Overnight, firefighters continued to make good progress in building containment lines around the fire. Some Hazards and hot spots still exist throughout the burned area. Firefighters and crews continue to work in the area to make it safe again, but residents and travelers are urged to be cautious in the fire area.
The complex is made up of four fires:
Comanche Fire- 29,338 acres - 95% contained
Knob Fire - 2,710 acres - 100% contained
Wolf Fire - 633 acres - 100% contained
Harris Fire - 50 acres - 100% contained
