04/27/2012 | 0645 | The 2012 California Preliminary Seasonal Assessment has been posted to http://gacc.nifc.gov/oncc/predictive/outlooks/seasonal_outlook.pdf . The assessment covers May - August of this year, but please note that this is the annual preliminary version. In June we will update to the final 2012 version, as we enter the core (late June through October) of the Region 5 fire season. Hopefully, the present uncertainty as to effects of a 'budding El Nino' will be much more clear by then. Monthly Outlooks will continue to be published around the 1st of each month. The Monthly Outlooks have a much higher forecast confidence level. |
