Meantime, there is a new threat against Americans, which has local fire officials concerned. A terrorist publication is now telling followers to attack Americans by setting wildfires.

The magazine, which is called Inspire, recently showed up on several jihadist Web forums. The publication is calling on Islamic extremists to attack the United States by setting wildfires with timed explosives.

The website provides instructions on how to build a fire bomb, and the writer of the article recommends targeting areas like Montana, but obviously this is something that could impact California as well.

"It does not seem all that farfetched. A wildfire moves quite quickly and can inflict damage, and if people have that intent, it's very frightening," said Battalion chief Julie Hutchinson with the California Fire Department.

As we head into the warmer and drier summer, firefighters say the threat should be taken seriously.
