[californiadisasters] Asiana Plane Crash - Not All Pilots Trained the Same

I like flying international air carriers because of the level of food and service on long haul flights. However, this article has me thinking about how the crew up front conducts themselves when things are not normal. It also gives me a more confidence in our US and Canadian pilots who have demonstrated the ability to act cooly and in a coordinated manor under extreme duress (Air Canada - Gimli, United Flt 232 - Sioux City, USAir - Hudson River). I fly often enough that I have also been passenger to numerous check rides for rookie pilots who performed well. One female pilot comes to mind as she greased the landing in one instance after the pilot announced her rookie status just before touchdown - talk about pressure!
